With the Premier League finally returning to our screens in September, we were approached by Greene King to create a film reminding people of the true magic of the ‘match day feeling’.
This wasn’t our first project with Greene King – we create all of their sports marketing content, and are currently in the midst of a top-secret Christmas campaign – if you love prizes, keep your eyes peeled! Working with the home of pub sport not only gives us a chance to flex our creative muscles, but also to challenge ourselves, creating agile, reactive content. Plus it gives us a reason to use all the football scarves around the office!
From concept to delivery, we had just 5 working days to create that ‘match day feeling’ in 2 minutes or less. In that time we had to arrange 16 actors, multiple locations, and featuring as many clubs as possible, not to mention the usual processes of filming, editing, and perfecting the final piece. The idea was an emotive poem – one that encompassed the highs and lows of experiencing a match, and how sport can bring people together. Even in the strangest season yet, Trunk and Greene King wanted to show that you don’t need to be in a stadium to get that feeling – when it comes to experiencing a match day, there’s no place like the pub.
Here’s what Chris Conchie, Head of Marketing for Sport at Greene King, had to say:
“Thank you to the amazing team at Trunk for bringing together a great video at lighting speed to help get our season underway!
Here’s to the start of a unique season and one that will, hopefully, see us all ending it together on the terraces and in the beer gardens of our favourite stadiums and pubs…….”
Here’s hoping, Chris! There’s no way of knowing who’ll take home the win this season (although we all have our favourites), or whether we’ll be back in stadiums any time soon. For now though … pint, anyone?
